MANAGING BACK AND PELVIC PAIN DURING PREGNANCY
March 20, 2026On March 21, 2026, the lecture halls of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) buzzed with a different kind of energy. It wasn’t just a typical day of theory; it was a day of hands-on innovation and professional bridge building. INS Orthotics Ltd. had the privilege of hosting an intensive physiotherapy equipment training session for the Year 3 and Year 4 intern students.

As a firm committed to “Mobility Solutions for All,” we believe that the future of Ugandan healthcare lies in the hands of these skilled students. Our goal for the day was simple but ambitious: to move beyond the textbook and step into real-world physiotherapy.
A Day of Hands-On Discovery
The training was designed to be immersive. We brought our latest clinical technology directly to the students, turning the classroom into a temporary rehabilitation hub. The session focused on four core pillars:
- Hands-on Demos: Students moved from observing to doing. Under the guidance of our experts, they interacted with high-end electrotherapy units, gait trainers, and specialized mobility aids.
- Clinical Skills Refinement: We delved into the precision required for modern practice measuring range of motion, assessing gait patterns, and understanding the nuances of equipment calibration.
- Orthotic Innovation: A highlight of the day was showcasing our latest orthopedic supports and braces. We discussed how these tools integrate into a comprehensive rehab plan to improve patient outcomes.
- Rehab in Practice: The training concluded with case-study discussions, allowing students to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios using the equipment at hand.
“Motion is life.”
The enthusiasm from the MUST students was palpable. Seeing the next generation of physiotherapists embrace new technologies from compression stockings to advanced biomechanical tools reinforces why we do what we do. Our team enjoyed every moment of the exchange, answering insightful questions and witnessing that “lightbulb moment” when a student masters a complex piece of equipment.
At INS Orthotics Ltd, we don’t just see ourselves as a medical device firm; we see ourselves as partners in the clinical journey. By equipping these students with practical skills today, we are ensuring that their future patients receive the best possible care tomorrow.

Looking Forward
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the faculty at MUST University for the warm welcome and to the Year 3 and 4 students for their focus and dedication. We are already looking forward to our next campus visit!
