Important Information
The custom-made HKAFO is a prescription-based orthotic device requiring comprehensive assessment, accurate body measurements, fabrication, and fitting by a qualified orthotist.
The design, joint mechanisms, support levels, and wearing schedule depend on the patient’s diagnosis, muscle strength, joint mobility, and rehabilitation goals.
Not every HKAFO is suitable for independent walking. Some patients may require walking aids, caregiver assistance, or supervised gait training.
Regular follow-up appointments are recommended to monitor brace fit, skin condition, joint alignment, comfort, and functional progress. Children may require adjustments or replacement as they grow.
